Master Plan for Westmount’s Parks and Green Spaces
The City is pleased to announce that it has engaged the firm of Fauteux et associés, landscape architects, to prepare a Master Plan for Westmount’s parks and green spaces. The Master Plan, also referred to as the Parks Study, sets out, in clear and concise terms, goals and principles that will serve as the framework for any future intervention and planning priorities in local parks and green spaces while respecting their history, evolution and heritage.
The Master Plan also serves as a reference guide, a working tool and an aid to assist with establishing priorities (and related budgets) for the implementation of short, medium and long-term goals. The Master Plan presents priorities in the following areas to guide future park and green space interventions: safety, sustainable development, impact of demographics and anticipated changes thereto, and historical/heritage considerations and preservation.
