Parking
Parking is limited to four hours on all streets in Westmount, unless otherwise indicated.
Westmount residents who do not have sufficient parking space on their property (including those living in apartments, condos and similar dwellings) may apply for permission to park on the street.
This annual “G” permit, which allows parking for 24 consecutive hours, can be purchased at the Public Security Parking Permits office. Proof of residence and vehicle registration are mandatory. Costs are as follows:
- $120 for the 1st car
- $240 for the 2nd car
- $480 for the 3rd car
As well, the "W" parking permit allows residents to park for four hours in all 2-hour and 1-hour zones on Westmount streets. The annual cost is $5 for this permit. Only one permit is issued per household.
Please note that these permits do not supersede other parking restrictions, including parking meters, no parking zones, fire hydrants or special signage.

Residents can renew a "G" permit within 30 days after the expiration date without being considered a new applicant. Please note, however, that the applicant remains responsible for all parking infractions received during this period. Avoid fines by renewing your permit BEFORE it expires.
Temporary overnight parking for visitors for a maximum of 30 days per vehicle, per calendar year. (Friday entries should get Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights counting for 1 entry) Residents may obtain a physical permit, call in or use the internet for overnight permission, they must provide the plate # of the vehicle that is requesting permission and other pertinent details, address of the host. Calls and internet applications must be made and recorded by Public Security between 4:30 PM - 11 PM, daily. Week-end hours from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. To use our internet application, click here.

Special permission is required for exceptional parking on Westmount streets, including overnight parking for visitors and temporary permits when a driveway or garage is inaccessible. Contact Public Security first, and avoid that pesky parking ticket:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturdays & Sundays, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Be prepared to provide your name, address, the location of the parked vehicle and its license plate number.
Please note that for temporary overnight parking (from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.) the cumulative duration of these special permissions must not exceed 30 nights per vehicle per calendar year.

Westmount also operates five outdoor parking lots at the following locations:
- Atwater Avenue near St. Antoine Street
- Greene Avenue between Sherbrooke Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard
- Prince Albert Avenue near St. Catherine Street
- Tupper Street near Gladstone Avenue
- Victoria Avenue north of Sherbrooke Street
While many lots uses standard parking meters, the Tupper, Atwater and Prince Albert lots require special permits. Thes permits are intended for non-residents who lack proper parking facilities during work days. The fees for these lots vary; contact the Parking Permits office or check our Web site for up-to-date information.
Please note that there are significant waiting lists for parking lot permits. To submit your name, please contact the Parking Permits Office.

Advance warning of snow removal and the times at which it will be taking place are given by flashing or fixed lights on major thoroughfares, and by special notices placed on side streets. Please check your street daily following a heavy snowfall, as vehicles blocking snow removal operations will be towed.
Street cleaning occurs on a fixed schedule and parking is not permitted during the designated periods, which are clearly posted. Check parking signs carefully as these restrictions are strictly enforced.
Residents moving into Westmount can reserve parking spaces for moving trucks by calling the Public Works Department the day before your move. Businesses can also temporarily reserve parking spaces by obtaining a permit from Public Works. For more details, please contact the department at 514 989-5268.
