Dog Licences
Westmount by-laws permit each household a maximum of three (3) dogs six months of age or older. Dog owners are responsible for their animal even when it is in the care of another person. Dogs must be leashed in public places with the exception of designated dog runs. Dogs are not allowed in tot lots and playground areas. Westmount enforces a stoop-and-scoop by-law, meaning failure to pick up and dispose of dog feces may result in a $300 fine.

A dog licence is required as of January 1 each year, and can be purchased for $15 from the Customer Service Centre at City Hall – proof of rabies vaccination within the previous 36 months is required.

Citizens are welcome to print out the following Dog Licence Application Form and forward it to the Customer Service Centre by mail, or in person, along with proof(s) of rabies vaccination, and payment, for processing.
